Take our tests to see how you score in some of the measurable skills. You can try them at any age, but they are aimed at students aged 16-18. These types of tests are common on some exams (like the SATs and the UCAT) and at interviews for jobs or apprenticeships in certain sectors, where they might be called abilities or aptitude tests.

Numbers
A good ability with numbers is especially important for STEM and finance jobs. This type of test can also be called a numerical reasoning or numerical aptitude test. It's commonly included at interviews for roles in business and finance, but you might be asked to take it for a wide range of sectors, from engineering to teaching.
Words
A good ability with words is particularly important in careers where you need to read and review documents and careers where you need to write, like law, journalism, marketing, politics and social or life sciences. This type of test can also be called a verbal reasoning test.
Reasoning
Our Patterns test can also be called a diagrammatic reasoning, abstract reasoning or inductive reasoning test. It's debated whether this test accurately measures Problem solving and Critical thinking ability, but employers find that the results are useful to determine suitability in roles which require you to deal with complex and unfamiliar situations. It is commonly included at interviews in consulting, finance, and management positions in business, and occasionally in fields like engineering and IT. Our Logic test measures your ability to infer the correct conclusion from initial statements, an aspect of Critical thinking that is especially important for STEM jobs and any career where you need to make decisions based on facts; including law, management and police work. This type of test can also be called a deductive reasoning test. It is slightly less common but can be used at interview especially in the science, engineering and programming sectors.
