When you were six, what did you want to be when you grew up? Did you even know what was out there? Unifrog is working with primary schools across the country to broaden little ones' horizons and show them all the amazing things they can do when they grow up – starting with the youngest budding palaeontologist we've ever met.

According to the CEC, by the age of six, children already have a fixed idea of which jobs ‘suit’ specific genders*. We need to challenge those stereotypes and get children excited about all the possibilities their futures could hold.

And that’s exactly what Headteacher Ms Tilley and Careers Lead Ms Mackenzie are doing at Rufford Primary School: building their pupils' dreams and giving them what they need to achieve them.

Rufford’s forward-thinking approach to careers and the way they use Unifrog means they can challenge stereotypes and help their pupils explore all the opportunities that are out there for them. And it shows: their pupils want to be fashion designers, engineers, wildlife rescuers, chefs, authors, and even palaeontologists –  and there's no gender bias in sight.

So how do they do it? They use Unifrog's Careers library and lessons in combination with visits from police officers, scientists, graphic designers, and even a professional footballer. They make every careers conversation relevant to the age of the child, and to what they're already learning about. At Rufford, careers education isn't its own subject – it's part of every subject so they have every opportunity to have the life they want and deserve.
