Catfishing and the law: fake profiles, real consequences
For students

Catfishing, the act of creating a fake online profile to deceive others (often for personal, financial, or emotional gain), has become more common with the rise in popularity of social media and dating apps. Join Bangor University to look at how the law in England and Wales deals with catfishing, the ethical and social implications of catfishing, and how online platforms can do more to stop it.
